I've said
once before, there is one thing over the years that I've loathed to blog about - singleness. But recently I've felt led to share on this very subject. Because I won't be single forever. And all I can say about that is thank you God for that! Otherwise I'd be lost forever in the Sea of No Hope. But seriously, I've encountered so many women who only share their hearts on singleness once they are in a relationship, engaged or already married. Not that there is anything wrong with that or exceptions to that, but I'd like to write from a place of reality instead of the faded recollections of my own distant past. And I can't stress enough that it will be
my personal reflections. My thoughts, my experiences, my views and beliefs. There will be no guarantees and no formulas. This is just me, sharing my journey toward marriage. There is no plan or time-frame, only God knows that. So here goes - the dive into the unknown begins. Scary, but exciting.

I'll probably be writing a bit about it myself on my own blog, because you're so right... most of the time you hear the married or engaged talk about their time of being single. I love reading those stories since that chapter's come to a close and they have the whole picture there to share, but I think it's really important for those of us who are currently single to share and act while we're still single. I'm excited to read what you end up sharing! :) Excited to be apart of the WPBI, too!
ReplyDeleteNatalie - there is a season for everything and each ones season comes at different times. I love that God calls each of us to different things at different times. Don't feel pressure to write on something that God has not given the go ahead for. Thanks for your endless encouragement. It's such a blessing to me.

thanks for sharing on this. i've felt the same way, i never write about my singleness or how difficult it can be, maybe because im afraid to seem desperate, but i am not, although there is a longing in my heart for that day. many have encouraged me in the past to pray for a godly husband but some how i never pray too much about it, but this prayer group is making me think that maybe i need to to do it...
